About

The Driving-Related Questionnaire Website was created by the Positive Family and Developmental Psychology Lab headed by Professor Orit Taubman – Ben‑Ari, a psychologist and professor at the Louis and Gabi Weisfeld School of Social Work at Bar–Ilan University in Israel. The website provides a simple and accessible description of the various questionnaires developed and tested in our lab for a deeper understanding of the psychology behind driving. Although driving is usually dealt with in order to prevent its negative consequences, such as traffic offenses and crashes, we are especially interested in advancing research and theory about its positive aspects, both as predictors and as consequences. Thus, we have paid considerable attention to issues relating to individuals’ driving styles (including the positive style of cautious and considerate driving), attitudes toward accompanied driving, and proneness to reckless driving, as well as the motivations for driving (costs and benefits), the family climate for road safety, and risky driving with friends.

This site offers a brief description of each questionnaire, relevant references, and the languages into which it has been translated.

If you would like further information or a copy of a full questionnaire in Hebrew or English, you are welcome to contact us at: taubman@biu.ac.il

If you are interested in questionnaires in other languages, please write directly to the authors who translated them.
